Water treatment: softeners and filtration

What we do
Analysing your water
Hardness, iron, sediment, pH, taste, and a bacteriological test for well water: we measure before we propose. The analysis decides the treatment and its size, not the catalogue.
Installing softeners
Volumetric units from established brands, fitted with a bypass so the system can be isolated without cutting the water to the house.
Filtration and additional treatment
Sediment filters, activated carbon, iron removal or under-sink reverse osmosis, depending on the problem found.
Servicing and settings
Annual check, disinfection, adjustment of the regeneration cycle and salt level control.
Frequently asked questions
Is softened water still drinkable?
Yes. A softener removes the calcium and magnesium responsible for limescale; it filters neither bacteria nor micropollutants. If your concern is the taste or quality of drinking water, you need a filter or under-sink reverse osmosis, possibly in addition.
How much salt does a softener use?
For a correctly sized household of four, expect about one 25 kg bag every six to eight weeks. Significantly more than that points to a wrong setting or an undersized unit — both fixable.
Can my well water be made drinkable?
Yes, provided you start from a full analysis: it shows what has to be removed — bacteria, nitrates, iron, turbidity — and therefore which filtration and disinfection system to install. Once the installation is in place, drinkability is checked, not assumed: a test every two months by an accredited laboratory confirms the water stays compliant, and we adjust the treatment if the results change.
How long does installation take?
A standard installation takes half a day, water shut-off included. We leave the site clean and explain how the system works before we go.
